Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
What is this privacy policy for?
This privacy policy is for this website (Star Travels) and is served by Star Travels & Holidays Ltd, and governs the privacy of its users who choose to use it.
The policy sets out the different areas where user privacy is concerned and outlines the obligations and requirements of the users, the website and website owners. Furthermore, the way this website processes, stores and protects user data and information is also detailed within this policy.
Why you should read this policy
Please read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information about how your personal data will be used. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Star Travels & Holidays Ltd ("we" or "us"), registered in England and Wales under Company Number 17373208 with its registered office at Star House, 14 Aintree Road, Perivale, Greenford UB6 7LA, is the "data controller" - the company responsible for, and controlling the processing of, your personal data.
Personal data we may collect about you
Personal information about you (such as your name, email address, phone number and travel preferences) will be obtained whenever you complete forms on the website, email us, or contact us in person or by phone.
We may also obtain information you provide when you send feedback, ask a question or report a problem with the website. We may retain a record of any contact you make with us.
We may ask you to provide sensitive personal data from time to time - for example, dietary requirements or health and mobility information relevant to planning your trip. If we ask for this, we'll explain why it's needed and how it will be used.
Personal information about other individuals
If you give us information on behalf of someone else - for example, other members of your travelling party - you confirm that they have authorised you to act on their behalf and have agreed that you can give consent to the processing of their data on their behalf, and receive data protection notices on their behalf.
Information that will be collected automatically
Cookies: with your consent only, we use advertising cookies from Meta (Facebook) and analytics cookies from Google. You can accept or refuse them on our cookie banner and change your mind at any time - see our Cookie Policy.
Device and technical information: our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information, such as your device type, browser and IP address, for security and to keep the site running reliably.
Advertising and analytics: if you accept cookies, the Meta pixel tells Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd which pages of this site you visit, so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram advertising and show our journeys to people likely to be interested; and Google Analytics, run through Google Tag Manager, tells Google Ireland Ltd how the site is used, with Google's advertising features switched off. Our lawful basis for both is your consent. Cloudflare's edge logging also provides anonymous usage statistics and doesn't identify you individually.
How your personal data will be used
We will use your personal data for the following purposes:
- responding to your enquiry and planning your journey with you;
- administration of your booking, once one exists;
- fraud prevention and detection;
- customising our service to your preferences (for example, dietary requirements);
- notifying you of anything affecting a trip you've enquired about or booked;
- improving our service.
What is our lawful basis for using your personal data?
In most cases, our processing of your personal data is necessary to respond to your enquiry or to perform a contract with you (for example, once you've booked a trip). We may also process your data because it's in our legitimate interests to do so - for example, to keep our records accurate and our service secure - or because we're required to by law.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails - occasional journey ideas and offers - to people who have asked for them. When you sign up on this website we send you an email asking you to confirm, and you are not added to our mailing list until you click the link in it. Our lawful basis for these emails is your consent.
Our mailing list is held by our email marketing provider, Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), who processes it on our behalf. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at contactus@startravels.com. Replying to an enquiry you've made is separate and never depends on marketing consent.
Disclosure of your personal data
We may disclose your personal data to:
- our service providers, such as our email delivery and email marketing providers, solely to help us deliver our service to you;
- other companies within the Star Tours group, where relevant to your enquiry or booking;
- law enforcement and regulatory agencies, where required by law;
- a third party who acquires Star Travels & Holidays Ltd or substantially all of its assets, in which case your personal data would be one of the assets transferred.
Keeping your data secure
We use technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal data, including storing it on secure servers and encrypting data in transit. While we use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal data, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Transfers of data outside the UK
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information, in line with UK data protection law.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, free of charge;
- have any inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to erase your data;
- object to how we process your data, including for direct marketing;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (for example for marketing emails or cookies), without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at contactus@startravels.com, with your full name and contact details. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
How long we will store your data
We store your data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for - for example, for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry, plan your trip, or meet our legal and accounting obligations once you've booked.
Complaints
If you have any concerns about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at contactus@startravels.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
